The last couple of weeks have seen US West and Bell Atlantic announce the
availabiltiy of xDSL connectivity in select metropolitan areas. The US West
offering is a two variety system with IDSL (ISDN-enabled) and should be 128k
bits/sec downstream to start. The other variety will be HDSL (high bit rate) and
704k bit/sec. They promise RADSL (Rate Adaptive) and will have a 2M bit/sec and
the HDSL should increase to 1M bit/sec around year-end. The site for this is
their Interprise site at:
http://www.nwfusion.com/ was my source.
More later.
Peace,
Clarke
